Safety Coordinator

Duz Cho is looking for a Safety Coordinator for an upcoming project in Vanderhoof, BC. If you think you have

successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the diverse cultures and histories of local Indigenous
communities. They must have demonstrated experience in applying Indigenous knowledge in a professional setting,
adhering to cultural protocols, and working with a culturally safe approach. Knowledge of the Truth and
Reconciliation Commission of Canada (TRC) Calls to Action and a commitment to advancing reconciliation are
essential.

As a Safety Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of our employees by promoting a

The shift will either be 14/14 or very similar. Being able to pass an Alcohol / Drug test will be a condition of
employment.

Roles & Responsibilities:
• Conduct regular site inspections, orientations and safety meetings.
• Monitor compliance with company policies, client requirements, and regulatory legislation.
• Support supervisors and workers with hazard identification and risk assessments.
• Review and verify worker training, orientations, and competency requirements.
• Investigate incidents and near misses
• Assist with corrective actions and follow-up on outstanding safety items.
• Ensure required safety documentation is completed and maintained.
• Track and report safety statistics, inspections, observations, and compliance metrics.
• Promote a positive safety culture through coaching and worker engagement.
• Verify appropriate PPE is available and being used correctly.
• Participate in emergency response planning, drills, and incident response as required.
• Provide guidance and support to supervisors on safety related concerns.
• Assist with the development and implementation of safety programs, procedures, and initiatives.

Qualifications:
• Education level – NCSO
• Experience – Minimum 2 years’ experience working in mining.

Wage Rate: $35 to $40 pending on experience;
Living Out Allowance: provided but must arrange own accommodation;
